L said that to me tonight. Simple but kinda poetic, dontcha think?
Another fairly low-key day. No doctor's appointments = no drama. I worked until about 330 then I came home to give K a ride to the airport. K and L said goodbye around 415 then she was off to the airport. I ran an errand or two for L (shirts to the cleaners, picking up orange sherbert from the store) then back home. L and I started a game of Scrabble which I figured we could just leave on the table and come back to throughout the weekend. We played four rounds then we took a break and the next thing I knew, he had cleared the board and put all the pieces back in the bag. Highly disappointing! I love the idea of games that last for several days. Didn't Frank Farmer/Kevin Costner have some year or two long game of chess running with his father in The Bodyguard? Yea... that's what I had in mind. (And no, I don't usually shape my life after scenes from The Bodyguard.)
After that, we just kinda chilled... I worked at my new little office station and he walked to and fro, sort of sitting to check out the Presidential address with me from time to time. L pointed out that if Congress had to deal with Social Security and health insurance like the rest of us do, they would have fixed it all a long time ago. I agree wholeheartedly.
Beyond that, nothing much else is up. Pain was manageable today. Appetite was good. Much success with the bell today! ;) K made some fancy cinnamon pecan pancakes that I didn't get to experience. They sound legendary. Rock on, mom. L got a couple calls from some extended family and from a friend from church. FYI everyone, bedtime is close to 9. Call before 7 if you want to chat with L.
